Ranjane: A Rural Story

On the rare weekends that I manage to wake up in the wee hours, I have always tried to make the most of it. This was one such impromptu plan when I was up early on a Saturday morning and decided to ride to Torna fort from Pune. Something urged me to take this trip and moreover take a very unconventional route. As opposed to the very direct NH48 route, I decided to take this route that takes me around the entire perimeter of Sinhagadh fort and across three beautiful mountains & boy was i grateful to have taken the road less traveled.
Riding past Sinhagad, I passed through the unspoiled immaculate villages of Ranjane & Velhe taking the Pabe Ghat route to Torna.
With vast stretches of well kept farms, quiet village life, glistening waterstreams and mild October sun it offered some of the most surreal views I had come across amongst all my breakfast rides!
Stumbled on a few eye-pleasing spots on my way at Ranjane! Stayed there for a while just soaking it all in!

Best time to visit: Early October, just after monsoon! Preferably wee hours of the morning.
